E2 Visa Process

After accepting your offer, the next step is getting your fingerprints done and then sending all the required documents to your school in SK. Depending on where you live the process of receiving your fingerprints may take some time, so it is important to do this immediately after accepting your offer. Luckily for me, mine only took 10 days.

After I received my fingerprints I ventured into TO to the Korean Consulate with all my required documents.

Required documents:
– passport sized photos
– sealed transcripts
– Degree (apostilled)
– fingerprints (apostilled)
– Passport information

Here are some sites that I found super helpful:
– TESL Korea
– English Teachers in South Korea
– Bundang Social Club
– Teach ESL Korea
– Seoul Veggie Club
– Seoul flyers (if interested in running)
– Monday Night Fitness (for those in the Bundang area)

WHAT UP SOUTH KOREA?

Back in February I accepted a teaching job in Yongin, South Korea. I had the pleasure of working with a fabulous recruiting agency (http://teacheslkorea.com/index.html) and highly recommend them to anyone interested in teaching in South Korea. There is a great facebook group available (Teach ESL Korea) which allows you to connect with people who are already in Korea or those who may be going at the same time.

The beginning of the process happened super fast. I started talking with Dan and in less then two weeks he presented me with an interview offer. I had my interview on Monday January 30th, received the job offer Wednesday and signed my one year contract and sent it back to Korea on the Friday.

I will be living Yongin, a city of about a million people. I love the idea of living in a smaller city and being less then an hour away from the bigger ones. The transit systems are apparently really easy which will make weekend trips even more tempting. Yongin is home to many natural recreational sites including Everland, Caribbean Bay (South Korea’s most popular amusement and water parks) and the Korean Folk Village which I am excited to explore.
Job Description :
